"No Royal Assent to Electoral Act Violations"
October 18, 2006
I have just read and signed the online petition "No Royal Assent to Electoral Act Violations" at
http://www.PetitionOnline.com/nzgg/
The Petition asks the Governor-General to refuse giving Royal Assent to this disgraceful retrospective legalisation legislation currently being rammed through Parliament. I personally agree with what this petition says, and I think you might agree, too. If you can spare a moment, please take a look, and consider signing yourself.

Judging by the speed in which those signatures are coming, NZ'rs are nothing short of furious with the validation bill.

Sir, you have done a noble deed.
What we see here is people power to express our disgust with what the current Government has done.
With the expected difficulty of a street march - you have created a way for New Zealanders to express their frustrations at the outragious way the Government has resolved a problem of their own making.
"Make the Politician's illegal spending of tax payers money - legal" will ring out when we all the opportunity to choose our next Leaders.
A dark day in New Zealand's history may have a silver lining.
You have done a good thing for your country.
Regards,
John
