Government Intervention in Childcare Drives Prices Up

I shuddered when I read this: "Mr Mallard said that if prices did rise he had the option of introducing fee controls."
If early childcare providers raise prices, it will be to prevent their insolvency thanks to government meddling. Bringing in fee controls will push most private childcare providers to close their doors. This will leave the state as the only provider of early childcare, cementing its hold over our children's minds. The bureaucrats seem to be holding fast to the Jesuit maxim of: "Give me a boy for the first seven years and I have him for life". Substitute child for boy and you have the future of New Zealand.
